About The Role

Continuing our successful growth, Hippo is seeking a Head of Business Development - Private Sector to join our BD team to expand our footprint across the private sector which currently includes the likes of the BBC, Virgin and Jet2.

As a Head of Business Development, you are responsible for identifying, developing and securing new private sector clients for our UCD, Engineering, Data, Identity, Cyber and Managed Services professional service offerings.

This is a hybrid role with travel across our offices and client locations as required.

Your role in a nutshell:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of target client organisations, stakeholder, challenges, direction, partnerships and competitors
  • Support the development of compelling propositions - leveraging Hippo’s track record, service offering and solutions - to meet market needs
  • Establish and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders across target accounts
  • Identify and shape new opportunities and build a strong long-term pipeline
  • Develop winning strategies to secure new opportunities
  • Progress deals through our commercial governance process
  • Help shape and deliver a strategic sustainable growth plan

Skills and experience that you need

  • Held senior sales role in digital / data consulting / professional services
  • Extensive experience of operating in private sector markets with enterprise scale accounts with a high number of end customers/users and / or volumes of data
  • Proven track record in identifying, shaping and closing deals with contract values between £1m - £25m
  • Strong networks of senior stakeholders across private sector clients
  • New business and account development experience of interest
  • Expert in any qualification / sales methodologies
  • Strong leader who works well as part of a cross-functional team
