About The Role

The Data Insights Manager is the bridge between Hippo’s commercial performance and our internal business knowledge. Sitting within the Commercial Operations team, you will be the guardian of our internal intelligence, ensuring that when our teams need an answer, from a revenue trend to a past project case study, the information is clean, connected, and ready to use.

Our data pipelines and core processes are already established - your focus will be maintaining that foundation and building the intelligence services that sit on top of it. You aren’t just managing dashboards, you’re enabling insight across the business. We are looking for a self-starter who is brilliant at the data basics but curious enough to use tools like Gemini or Codex to accelerate their own learning and solve complex problems.

Accountabilities

1. Data Stewardship & Quality

  • The Gold Standard: Maintain and enforce the data quality rules across HubSpot, Kantata/Kimble, and Google Workspace that keep our reporting accurate.

  • Knowledge Indexing: Manage how Hippo’s internal knowledge (bids, feedback, and case studies) is captured and indexed to ensure our AI retrieval (utilising Snowflake Intelligence) actually works for the people using it.

2. Analytics & Pipeline Evolution

  • Building Insights: Design and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide our Commercial and Delivery teams with real-time visibility into how we are performing.

  • Maintaining the Flow: Support the maintenance of our dbt/Snowflake pipeline. You’ll work with technical support to evolve our data models, ensuring they stay aligned with how the business changes.

3. AI Enablement & Self-Service

  • The AI Librarian: Support the development, deployment and maintenance of AI agents (Cortex/Gemini). You’ll ensure they are fed high-quality, relevant content so they provide useful, accurate answers.

  • User Enablement: Build and promote intuitive, self-service pathways that make it easy for anyone at Hippo to find the data or documents they need without a manual search.

You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with new Snowflake and Google Cloud features as they emerge to keep Hippo at the cutting edge.

Skills and experience that you need

Skills

  • The Modern Data Stack: You are a Power BI and SQL native. You’re comfortable navigating Snowflake and understand the data journey from Fivetran and dbt through to the end-user's dashboard.

  • Self-Driven Learning: You are a natural problem solver who isn't afraid to use AI co-pilots (like Gemini or Codex) to troubleshoot code or learn new technical functions on the fly.

  • Knowledge Architecture: You have a knack for organising messy information (text and documents) so it’s useful for LLMs and humans alike.

  • Commercial Fluency: You understand how a consultancy works - utilisation rates, rate cards, and the mechanics of public sector procurement (G-Cloud, DOS).

  • Precision: You have the soft power to enforce data standards and the written clarity to document how things work.

Experience

  • Dashboard Specialist: A track record of building data tools that people actually enjoy using to make decisions.

  • Data Maintenance: Experience working within modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure).

  • Consultancy Background (Preferred): You’ve worked in a professional services or digital agency environment before.

  •  AI Curiosity: You have a practical interest in how AI can be used to index and retrieve internal knowledge.

What makes us great

As well as a competitive salary which we’re transparent about from the outset, you can also expect a range of benefits:

  • 25 days holiday plus UK public holidays

Hippo locations

We are headquartered in Leeds and have offices across the UK in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Bristol. We're on the lookout for top talent nationwide but you need to be located within reasonable travelling distance from one of our offices which will be your contracted office location.  Given the dynamic nature of a consulting business, you may be required to work on-site at a Hippo office or at an in/out of town client location for a number of days per week (client dependent) and therefore candidates will need to be open/flexible to travel. Plus, we offer a generous relocation support package of up to £8k (please ask for terms and conditions) to help make your move a smooth one.
